Whole wheat flour is not dangerous to use in cooking our dog's treats.

WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR (used as a low cost fibre source in commercial dog food) is the leading cause of dog allergies. Absolutely useless with no nutritional value whatsoever.

Also Wheat used in commercial dog food are FOOD FRAGMENTS (filler/fibre source/carbohydrate source). Low cost by-products and left overs from another food manufacturing process. Examples include WHEAT BRAN and BREWER’S RICE (a waste product of the alcohol industry).

Imagine a repetitive daily feeding of this type of product over years. It is not a good thing.

(Think about having one meal to eat daily for you and your family, such as hotdogs for example. The occasional hotdog, which is filled with harmful nitrates, fillers and chemicals is not going to harm us. Eating hotdogs daily for your whole life, now that is when the danger of illness begins.)

Using whole wheat flour to bake your own dog treats is not going to cause allergies.

Recipes look great but I'm confused that everyone says whole wheat flour
is horrible for dogs but yet when looking for wholesome homemade recipies
whole wheat is listed. Can someone clarify this ingredient for me?
Thanks

i have heard that oatmeal and other grains are not good for my lab. can i use rice or something else as a binder? also i've heard that white potatoes are hard for them to digest. i also thought that dry food helped with the maintenance of their teeth. Doesn't cooking fresh veggies destroy the nutrients? thanx

Thank you for all of the helpful information on your site. I have 2 Shar Peis with skin issues, and I have taken them completely off commercial dog food. I'm cooking all their food now, and I found your information to be very useful! Thank you!
