Look at my newest addition – Jinx.
She showed up one summer afternoon in 2008 in my garage and was 2 pounds if even that. Her little spine and rib bones were protruding so much I was afraid she would break.
She was the epitome of “skin and bones,” and thankfully must have had a sixth sense that my garage was a safe haven.
It took me a few months to gain her trust enough to get her to come into the house.

She was friendly, but stayed in the garage, and wouldn’t take the first step into the house.
When we started getting into the coldest winter ever, I started bringing her in a little at a time, although she didn’t stay long. She always wanted back out to the garage, as I suppose this was where she felt safest.
I had a bed, litter box and heat lamp in the garage, which is where she stayed until I guess one day she must have realized that in was much better in than out.
She finally came through the door on her own around Dec. 2008, and hasn’t wanted to go back outside since.
I had her spayed when the vet deemed she was old enough, and was healthy enough.

Now she has certainly become a happy member of this family and gets along with all the others.
Another sweetie saved and lives happily ever after.
I now have three cats in the house, along with my two dogs, and this is quite a happy group.
