SUSIE'S STORY

This is my sweet, sweet little beagle girl, Sue. She was 10 years old when she died, and had multiple diseases.
Susie
CANCER is what ultimately killed her, but she also had a thyroid that didn't work, and was on thyroid pills her whole life. She also had mild epilepsy and seizures. She had so many different major medical problems throughout her life, and I tried many expensive vet approved remedies.

Having access or first hand knowledge of vet care at home would have saved me a lot of money, but the more important thing is I am 100% convinced that I could have given Susie a longer and healthier life.

I saved her from a horrible puppy mill, at the age of six months, and she was the most heartbreaking picture of neglect I have to this day ever seen.

She had a good life with me here, and was treated like a little princess.

Because of Susie's multiple diseases and illnesses and her untimely death, and the pet food contamination and recall all happening within the same year, I began reading and ultimately advocating feeding healthy natural homemade or organic dog food.

I truly believe Susie would have lived to her full potential of an additional 5 to 8 years if I hadn't fed her the crappy, low grade commercial dog food that I thought was good for her.

I didn't have the knowledge yet of what I was really serving to Susie, and as with most others believed that I was making the best choice available.

SO NOW I MOVE FORWARD AND TRY AND SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT HEALTHY NATURAL HOMEMADE OR ORGANIC DOG FOOD. I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE THIS WILL INCREASE THE LIFESPAN AND HEALTH OF MY ANIMALS, ALONG WITH ALL OF YOU WHO SWITCH OVER TO A PROPER NUTRITIOUS CANINE DIET FOR YOUR COMPANION.

R.I.P MY SWEET SWEET SUE. 🙁

Did you know that CANCER is the number one non accidental killer of our beloved companions.

Our dogs, and other pets with cancer are dying needlessly, when there are some simple tips to follow to help avoid getting this horrible killer disease in the first place.

By eliminating chemicals from our homes and gardens you can reduce the chance of your dog getting cancer. This alone seems to me to be such a simple tip, but I really didn't think much about fertilizing my lawn every year.

Absorption through the pads of your dogs feet over years of walking on regularly fertilized grass will increase their chance of getting canine cancer immensely.

Just by eliminating using fertilizers and toxic chemicals and switching to a more natural organic way of gardening will give you and your dog a better chance of living a longer healthier life.

Also inside chemicals being eliminated (such a the many toxic cleaning products) and using a more natural approach will also improve you and your pet's chance for longevity.

The most surprising fact about the causes of canine cancer that I have been reading and learning about is that commercial dog food is the number one cause.

It is only common sense I guess when all the facts are put together and you find out about the horrible practices of the commercial dog food companies and what they really put into their products. Although these practices have recently come to the attention of all of us through news after the dog food industries tainted dog food recall, we must realize that things have not really changed.

If you are serious about eliminating the chance of your pet getting dog cancer, then not only eliminating chemicals and poorly made commercial dog food is the answer.

I bought this e-book years ago, when it first came out, and have kept myself updated.

Just as with us, with the startling facts that our over processed and chemical filled diets are making us sick and killing us younger, so is your pet's food causing all the same problems for them.

Just by simple education and changing diets by choosing a more organic, natural and healthy diet, we can increase both our lives, and our dog's lives dramatically.

Reducing or even preventing cancer is truly possible by choosing the proper diet, exercise and lifestyle for both us and our precious companions.

Always remember we speak for our trusting and loving pets, and do the best you are able to do to give them a healthy happy life.

  1. Hi Marcy

Sorry for the challenges you are about to face with your dog. It is not a happy battle, as I well know.
As always, just do the best you can and show your precious companion much love and attention. That will be most important.

  2. Just found out our choc. lab has bladder cancer. I am now making her homemade foods to eat….the vet did not even suggest an over the counter dog food so you might not want to believe the natural products either like blue & hills…We have just started treatments and if all goes well she will soon be 12 yrs. old. Not only am I sick about feeding her crummy dog food, but I am learning now about getting too many vaccinations, bad flea products, lawn pesticides, etc. Even her cancer treatments cause me to wonder if that is the correct procedure or am I causing more harm. We use to have dogs many years ago that stayed outside, ate food scraps and only had a rabies shot and those little pets lived to great old ages. Very sorry for your loss, it is heartbreaking.

  3. I share your guilt as we just lost our sweet Lab at age 9 to stomach cancer. The higher priced commercial dog food I fed him and the special treats I gave him every night turn out to be full of chemcials, fillers and harmful things that I had NO IDEA were in them. I thought I was giving him good stuff, I believed the lies the pet food companies promote in order to make money and now I don’t have my wonderful dog anymore and he was not that old! I wonder if with a better diet he might have lived to 14 or 15, I wish I could do it over! I am switching our other pets to natural foods THIS week in hopes of giving them longer, healthy lives.

  4. Thank you for sharing such a wealth of information! I can’t tell you how much you have helped to relieve my anxieties, questions, and concerns regarding feeding my 14 week old Flat-Coat Retriever puppy. The recipe you included for a homemade, and cooked diet is wonderful, easy to prepare, and my pup thinks that she’s died, and gone to heaven every time she eats!! I’am disappointed to say that I didn’t even come close to recieving this kind of support from my vet. This is a breed that is prone to canine cancer and I want to do everything in my power to help prevent the dreaded disease from happening to her. Thanks, as well, for the extensive lists of recommended healthy, natural, and organic commercial dog food brands, treats, and supplements. It is nice to have options, especially considering we will be travelling alot with our dog.
Again, thank you for caring so much about the health of our canine friends.
