Jinx after gaining a few pounds - still skinny

A little puff ball March 2009

Look at my newest addition – Jinx. She showed up one summer afternoon in the garage and was 2 pounds if even that. Her little spine and rib bones were protruding so much, and I felt so sorry for her. The first two pics of her outside below show her after she had put on a few pounds.

Jinx is of course a real sweetie, but it took a few months to get her to come into the house. She was friendly, but stayed in the garage. When we started getting into the coldest winter ever, I started bringing her in a little at a time.

I had a bed and heat lamp in the garage, which is where she stayed until I guess one day she must have realized that in was much better in than out. She finally came through the door on her own around Dec. 2008, and hasn’t wanted to go back outside since.

I had her spayed in November and had to keep the garage door closed and I spent many hours out there with her when she came home from the hospital. Even then she wouldn’t stay in.

Jinx and me

I guess I'll stay, if you insist.

Now she has certainly become a happy member of this family and gets along with all the others.

Another sweetie saved and lives happily ever after. Awwwww.

Don’t forget our cats love all natural and organic food also. Please make sure you don’t give them chemical filled cheap food, as this is very harmful and can decrease their health and life.

Buddy sunning himself on the deck - Sept. 08

Buddy - Christmas 2008

This is Buddy boy, who was freezing and skinny when he showed up in February 07. The vet thought he was around 6 mos. old at that time. He sure has grown up! He seem’s to be getting tubby lately, but he is also on a healthy organic diet. He is also an inside outside/inside cat. I tried keeping him in full time when he first arrived, just as with Zena, but neither one would have any of it. He does spend most of his time inside, when I’m in, and out when I’m out, and sleeps in the house most of the time. But when he wants out there is not stopping him, so out he goes.

Buddy is the most easy going cat I have ever met. Anyone can approach him, pet him, pick him up and carry him around on your neck if you would like. Extremely friendly, social hangs around with me and the dogs most of the time. Ususally wherever Lola is, Buddy is not too far behind.

Buddy and Lola - Best Friends!

He was scrappy and seemed to have battle wounds when he arrived here, but since I got him neutered his personality and size has completely changed.

Zena loves sunny days - Waiting for summer here!

My perfect little girl

This is our little princess, ZENA. Lady and Lola found her in the garbage, out at the end of my long driveway one summer morning. This is her 3rd summer here and she was only about 2 weeks old when I picked her out of the garbage pail, that was waiting for our weekly pickup. I shudder to think about her horrible end if my 2 girls hadn’t kept up the racket of barking, jumping and running around the garbage, until I noticed this tiny little sweet baby.

She’s gone from a throwaway to an extremely lucky, spoiled girl, who gets organic cat food and is in excellent health.  She is tiny (only around 7 pounds) but physically in perfect shape.

She wasn’t weaned yet when the girls found her, so up to vet I went and got the proper supplies, liquid food, bottles, and syringes to feed her with. I spent many weeks nursing Zena (aka ZeeZee, or Zenie and sometimes Zene Zene my Jelly Bean)

Relaxing as usual

Relaxing on kitchen table while I set it for supper

As you can see she is fine now. She rules all of us, but I am the only one that has permission to approach her or touch her.  She will allow me to pet her, only when she requests it.  She is quite snotty, self-reliant, and really not very social, but adorable. Her and Lola were both babies here together, so they have a special bond. Lola is the only other animal allowed near Zena, and they sometimes sleep together.

At my house she is allowed to go where ever she pleases, including on the kitchen table while we are setting it for supper,( looks like spaghetti that night) and also on the dining room table. She won’t stay in all the time, which worries me, but she still is an indoor cat most of the time.

Admit it, you're a Cat Lover. We are too.
